Meet Our Pastor...
Rev.
Danny R. Bennett
“Preacher Danny”
Rev. Danny R. Bennett was born in Forsyth County, Georgia, on March 5,
1957. Preacher Danny married the love of his life, Vickie Reed Bennett,
on June 24, 1977. They have one daughter, Valorie Bennett.
In
July, 1968, Preacher Danny accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. On
March 24, 1974, at the age of seventeen, he confessed his call to
preach.
Preacher Danny was called to serve as pastor at Bethany Baptist Church
in Fulton County in 1983. He has subsequently served as pastor at Shady
Grove Baptist Church, Forsyth County (1987), Bethlehem Baptist Church,
Forsyth County (1990), Oak Grove Baptist Church, Forsyth County (1995),
and Coal Mountain Baptist Church, Forsyth County from 1999 to present.
Preacher Danny has assisted in hundreds of revivals across the
Southeast, witnessing many accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. In
2006, Preacher Danny was one of three preachers who participated in a
revival at Little Zion Baptist Church in Waveland, Mississippi. In
April, Preacher Danny will be traveling to Waveland to preach at the
dedication service at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, the church
that CMBC was instrumental in helping to rebuild after Hurricane
Katrina. Preacher Danny has also assisted in the Holbrook Campground
Meeting (Forsyth County) for several years and will once again be
assisting in the summer of 2007.
Preacher Danny is the presiding Moderator of the Hightower Baptist
Association (2007 – 2008) and has served on numerous associational
committees throughout his ministry. He is also active in the community
and is called upon to speak at various events throughout the county.
Preacher
Danny’s love for children is not only evident to everyone at CMBC but is
extended to all children throughout the community. He has served on the
Forsyth County mentoring Program for the past eight years. Preacher
Danny’s love for children and his desire that all children be given the
opportunity to begin life on a firm foundation was the vision and
inspiration for the Coal Mountain Baptist Preschool.
A
devoted husband, loving and proud father, avid fisherman and golfer,
dedicated minister and pastor, Preacher Danny feels his main purpose is
to lift Jesus up to the world. For all that has been accomplished in
his life, Preacher Danny gives God all the glory!
Who is Danny Bennett to the members and
visitors of Coal Mountain Baptist Church?
He's a man with a deep reassuring voice, a warm
handshake, and a humble spirit. He's a man with a great love for the Lord and
limitless compassion for His people. He is a man with the
God-given gifts of not only humor and sensitivity, but the ability
to make you feel right at home whenever you're in his presence. Best of
all, he's "that good ol' country boy preacher" that we all
know and love.
